FSU Parents Weekend, 2016

One of my favorite college campuses is FSU in the beautiful Tallahassee, FL. I am in love with the live oaks and Spanish moss and the old, Spanish-style architecture.

There is a certain, laid back feel to Florida that most likely comes from the heat. It was very hot this particular weekend, especially sitting all day in a sunny football stadium. But Bill and I didn't mind too much since we got to see Braxton march with the Marching CHIEFS and watch our NC Tarheel eek in a win against the Noles. Very exciting game! We love the Seminoles, but our blood still runs Carolina blue!

The Chiefs did a great halftime show to Grease, hence the 50s costumes. Braxton can do a mean hand jive. We also hit our fav eating establishments, including Midtown Caboose, Momo's Pizza and the IHOP. 4 Rivers bbq was excellent as well!

FSU Men's Rugby - 2016

Rugby appears to be the primary collegiate sport for the Friday family. Here are some pictures from this weekend's tournament where we got to see Braxton play several games of Sevens. Very exciting!

Peach Bowl 2015

FSU vs Houston was a disaster BUT the Marching Chiefs were great and the stadium chili cheese dog and roasted peanuts were delicious. Sad game, but we did have fun. Happy New Year to everyone! Praying for a great 2016!

Florida State University - Go Noles!

Braxton's new digs in Tallahassee. West 10 is a great complex with wonderful pool, workout facility, tanning beds (Florida!), gaming room, study center, etc. And a super Walmart just a mile down the road! Gonna be a great year! Notice...the flag collection from his past year's European travels.

Fun in Myrtle Beach

The Fridays are having a blast on our first family vacation in years. We even got in a quick visit with the grandparents to celebrate Mom's birthday. Everyone is home for just a few days and then they're off to school - UGA, FSU, and UK. The life of the empty nester is waiting for Bill and me. Boo hoo! Or should I say, woo hoo?

This past weekend, we have been on the road traveling to Tuscaloosa and Tallahassee for college trips to Bama and FSU - particularly for music school auditions. We loved both schools but particularly fell for FSU with it's beachy, Spanish, southern feel. Here are some pics for your enjoyment:
