Today I had the honor of presenting my novel, The Velvet Box, to the Jacksonville Literary Guild in Jacksonville, N.C.
Lunch, presentation, and a lively discussion took place at the Jacksonville Country Club - one of my old stomping grounds as a kid. I have fond memories of summers at the pool, burgers at the snack bar, and watching my granddaddy play a round of golf.

I was also honored to have two of my life-long friends, Mary Beth Hargett and Catherine Renchen, there by my side, cheering me on. Cathy Renchen, in particular, has been a great supporter of my writing over the years. Love them both. My mother was there as well. So glad that she could join us.
Here I am with the president of the Guild, Diane Popkin, and Syliva Lewis, another good friend and great supporter. Sylvia read my book a year ago and suggested it as a "must-read" for the Guild. I am forever in her debt!
A great day and a wonderful incentive to keep writing! Book clubs are the backbone of the book/novel industry, and this author is extremely thankful for this wonderful group of ladies!
Happy reading - and writing!
